First Lapbook
Encouraged by some other homeschooling moms ;-) I decided to try lapbooking. My 9 yr old is pretty crafty and learns best with hands-on activities so I knew it'd be a big hit with her. The other kids enjoyed it too. My 11 yr old seemed a bit too old for this particular project, but I think he enjoyed the break from our regular schoolwork anyway. The topic was Deer- it was a free download from Hands of a Child. I wasn't too concerned with really learning much this time; I just wanted to see if we could do lapbooking. I think it turned out well. My 4 yr old can now tell you what a daddy, mommy, and baby deer are called. And she can also spell "deer." My two year old didn't learn anything about deer, but she was happy that she got to play with paper and glue! And my craft-loving 9 yr old did learn a few things and definitely wants to do this again!
It was fun, but very very messy!

I love it!
I love the mess after a couple of hours of crafting. We have to make Valentine boxes for our Valentine party this week, so we will have a big mess too!!!
Great job on the lapbooking!
I downloaded that one too!! Glad it was a big hit!

Looks like so much fun... and I bet the 11yo enjoyed it more than he would admit! ;o)
