Back to School and Not Back to School
Summer is not over!

Okay now speaking of school and my denial of summer coming to an end, we have in fact resumed our homeschooling. Monday was our first day of the new year but it was a little different than usual. Remember how I mentioned those yellow school buses? Well, my second eldest child got on one of them that day and off to public school she went. She had been asking if she could go for 5th grade and we finally agreed. It's not something I'm entirely happy about, but I'm happy that she's happy about it (so far) and I'm proud of her for trying something new. She's only two days into it but so far so good.

On the homeschooling front, today was our traditional Not-Back-to-School picnic since the rest of us are not going back to school. Well not to public school anyway. My 6 yr old however is excited about officially being a first-grader now and my 13 yr old has happily jumped into his 8th grade studies, glad to have something more interesting to do. His words. :-) My 4 yr old daughter is having fun starting another preschool year and the 2 yr old is just happy to be along for the ride.

So off we go into our 4th year of homeschooling....minus one, but I think it will be a good year for everyone. :-)

I hope you have a wonderful year of homeschooling ahead of you. Your pool plans sound like fun. I wish our city pool was still open.
I wish you a beautiful homeschooling year!
And thank you for visiting my blog.
That's right - summer is not over yet! We still visit the pool on a weekly basis (well, we have an indoor pool next door, so that's where we go).
We started a bit earlier than we intended (I was going to start on Sept. 8 but we started on Aug. 31), because my son needed something interesting to do too. LOL
Happy Belated Not-Back-To-School Day AND wishing you, and your children, a fantabulous school year!
Thanx for dropping by my blog. My youngest went off to school at the beginning of the year this year and lasted a whole 6 days! I hope your daughter enjoys school more than he did. I think its great that you are letting her make her own choices, sometimes that can be really hard.
