Saturday School
For most kids, that would probably seem like a punishment. So I was nervous about giving the kids the news that this year we'd be having school on Saturdays. But with Dan having Thursdays off, we decided it'd be better to take the day off with him. I think many homeschooling moms can relate to just how much work actually gets done on Dad's days off. So instead of fighting it, we'll just enjoy the day with Daddy. The kids took the news about Saturday school surprisingly well. My oldest said he thought it'd be much better having a break in the middle of the week rather than two days off in a row. So that's that. They just want to know if they'll be allowed to play video games on Saturdays still (usually only a weekend treat) or will they be able to play on Thursdays now too?

Ok, so do they get to play on Thursdays too?? LOL I love the innocence in a child's thoughts. :)
I don't know. I'm still undecided on that one. :-)
My husband never knows when he will be off. But he is off for 2 days a week. This week that is Tuesday and Friday. Those will be our weekend days. :) I love homeschooling!
:) Daddy was home today and I didn't realize until everyone was in bed that we'd missed doing math with one kid. Yours sounds like a practical plan.
Troy just got on a new route (he works for Frito Lay) so he's off on Sunday and Wednesday. It made no sense at all to do school on his day off, so we take Wednesday off and have school on Saturday! It's worked out very well so far, as I've tried to make our schedule as light as possible on Saturday. That's one of the beauties of homeschooling!
I recently signed a petition to be sent to the Governor re: the closing of the state parks. Hopefully, if enough of us voice our opinions, common sense will win out. Keep up the great work, and I couldn't be prouder of your entire family. Love to all, Grandpa Rich
